Frequently Asked Questions
Villa International makes it easy to order custom made furniture with our simple three step EasyGuide order forms. Simply print out the form from our web site and follow the instructions for selecting the style, measurements and options for the piece that fits your exact needs. If you ever have any questions, or need additional advice, you can always call us at 562-404-8111.
In our experience, no single sofa size can fit every customer’s needs. That’s why we make it easy to customize our sofas and j-lounges. Each is built to a pre-specified height and depth, then we leave the width up to you. This customized width comes “standard” with all of our sofas and lounges, at no extra charge.
Our crafters build each piece of furniture step-by-step, from the frame up. Because we build everything by hand, we have the flexibility to alter the width of your sofa to suit your specific needs.
The first step is to use Villa International’s EasyGuide order form. With this form in hand, you’ll need to make three measurements of the area where you want the furniture to go: Height, Depth and Width. Make sure that you have enough room for the pre-specified height and depth indicated on the form. (If you don’t, please call us to discuss possible solutions.) Then simply write in the desired width on the space provided on the form.
When you take your measurements, be careful to note any obstructions that might exist, such as a heater, wire harness or speakers. Is there a windowsill behind the area for your sofa? Will your recliner need to fit on a slide-out? If you’d like some space between the furniture and a wall, make sure you allow for that as well.
Height is the distance from the floor to the highest point of the furniture, usually the top of the seat back cushion. Note that the hard frame of a sofa or recliner is generally a few inches lower than the cushion, providing additional clearance for potential obstructions such as window sills.
Width is the distance from one end of the piece of furniture to the other, from left to right. Depth is the distance from the back of the piece of furniture to its front.
